Atlantis Pizzeria And Family Restaurant To Close In Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Atlantis Pizzeria and Family Restaurant, a longtime Alexandria establishment at the Bradlee Shopping Center, announced it will close.

Owners Bill and Jim Patrianakos said in a Facebook post that it will close on Sunday, Jan. 24. It has been in business for 38 years. The owners cited the challenges of conducting normal business during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The business dates back to 1983, when the Patrianakos brothers sought to offer quality food at reasonable prices. Atlantis offers a breakfast menu as well as Greek, Italian and American fare. The restaurant has been focusing on takeout service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It has been with great privilege to have served our customers for over 38 years," the owners wrote. "We thank you for being such loyal customers and allowing us to be part of your family."

Since the closing announcement went up, customers have been sharing memories and well wishes on Facebook.
