Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing to hold neighborhood anniversary party [Religion Digest]

Sep. 3----Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing, will have a neighborhood anniversary party next Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. to celebrate its 100 years in the community. There will be music by Noah Gibney Trio as well as the Jordan Bickhart Band along with food, games, activities and a special car display by Skyline Corvette Car Club.

—There will be a concert entitled "For God, and Country" on Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, 1825 W. Turner St., Allentown, featuring a medley of patriotic music and songs by the choirs of the cathedral parish. First responders are invited to wear their uniforms. A free will offering will be taken to benefit first responders and the cathedral music program.

—Desire, a '50s and '60s doo wop group, will perform at the Hill Church Picnic Grove, 620 Hill Church Road, Pike Township, on Sept 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. Food will be available beginning at 3 p.m. The concert is rain or shine. A free will offering will be accepted.

—St. John's Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will host a Grief Share Support Group beginning on Sept. 15 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. The group will be led by the Rev. Jim Bertoti, senior pastor, and is a 13-week session that consists of videos led by Christian experts, group discussion and a personal workbook. It is open to the public. —Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, will worship on Sunday at 9 a.m. The Houck and Kehs families will provide special music during the service. Coffee & Conversation will be held at 8:30 in the Welcome Center and then again following worship.

—Advent Lutheran Church, 16 Telford Ave., West Lawn, celebrates "God's Work, Our Hands" next Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. with its annual Hungry Yard Sale in the church parking lot. All sales are by donation. All proceeds will be sent to World Hunger.

—Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, will hold three worship services, each including Holy Eucharist: at 8, a said service (no music); at 9, a service for families with young children; and at 10, a service with music. —St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, will have two worship services in the sanctuary, at 9 and 10:30 a.m., both with Holy Communion.
