Attending the Summit League Tournament 2023? Here's what to know from food to tickets

It's about time for the Summit League Tournament to take place inside the Denny Sanford Premier Center. If you don't have plans yet, you might want to start.

The tournament tips-off Friday, with championship games being held Tuesday.

On the women's side, South Dakota State enters as the favorite as they ran the table during the regular season, amassing a perfect 18-0 conference record. The Jacks are 25-5 overall entering the conference tournament. In the latest AP Top 25, the Jacks received 10 votes. SDSU is led by redshirt senior forward Myah Selland, a finalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year.

Like the SDSU women, the Oral Roberts men's team amassed a perfect conference record at 18-0. The Golden Eagles' last defeat was back in Nov. 23 when they fell 95-85 to Utah State. Standout senior guard Max Abmas is averaging 22.3 points per game for the Golden Eagles.

Here's what you need to know before you go.

Clear bag policy at the Denny Sanford Premier Center

Denny Sanford Premier Center implements a clear bag policy.

Guests may enter the Denny Sanford Premier Center with a clear one gallon zipper lock bag or a clear stadium bag that is no larger than 12" x 12" x 6". Clutch bags, fanny packs and over-the-shoulder packs (smaller than 4.5" x 6.5") that have a single over the shoulder or cross-body strap that's made of canvas, nylon or leather material are permitted.

Opaque bags larger than 4.5-inches-by-6.5-inches will not be allowed and patrons who are in possession of items that are larger than that will be denied entry.

New basketball tournament format

This year, all 10 Summit League members will participate in the five-day tournament that starts Friday. The first day of action features games involving the No. 7 and No. 10 seeds and the No. 8 and No. 9. seeds.

How to get tickets for the Summit League Tournament

Tickets for the Summit League Tournament are available on Ticketmaster. There are five-day ticket options available for $110 each, or session tickets at $21.

Doors will open to the public 45 minutes prior to each session and no re-entry is allowed for the tournament at all during each session.

Where to park at the Denny Sanford Premier Center

Another new feature this year is the ability to purchase preferred parking passes for Lot D, just north of the Denny Sanford Premier Center. Passes for the five-day championship tournament cost $100 per pass and can be purchased as an add-on while making ticket purchases through Ticketmaster.

General public parking on-site will be available in Lots A, B and E.

Rideshare drivers and riders can us the designated pick-up and drop-off area on the south side of the complex, near the main entrances.

Bring a card for concessions

The Denny Sanford Premier Center has become a cashless venue. All concessions will be credit card-use only.

Restaurants near the Denny Sanford Premier Cente

Sioux Falls has many different dining options, however, most are distant from the Denny Sanford Premier Center. There are some in the vicinity, like Watecha Bowl, Rosie's Cafe or Crooked Pint Ale House. If you're looking to venture, downtown also has a wide variety of options.

And, if you're looking for something new, Sioux Falls has plenty of options.

Sioux Falls also has multiple hotel options, with some offerings near the Denny Sanford Premier Center.

Can't go to the tournament? Streaming options available

If you're not able to make it out to the Denny Sanford Premier Center, you still have a chance to catch the games. Friday's first-round games, all four quarterfinals and Monday's semifinals will air on Midco Sports and can be streamed on Midco Sports Plus and ESPN+.

Tuesday night's men's championship at 8 p.m. will be televised live on ESPN2 and available on WatchEspn.com or the ESPN app.

It marks the 14th consecutive season that both the men's and women's tournaments will be broadcasted throughout their entirety.
