Adeena Weiss Ortiz, attorney for the Toledo family, said the teen did not have a gun in his hand when he was shot and killed by a CPD officer.
- For the first time since the video's release, we're hearing from the Toledo family's attorney.
- And as we've shown you, it appears Adam Toledo might have had something in his hand. But that attorney says it's not relevant because of what Adam did in the moments before the shooting.
ADEENA WEISS ORTIZ: Those videos speak for themselves. Adam, during his last second of life, did not have a gun in his hand. The officer screamed at him, "show me your hands." Adam complied, turned around. His hands were empty when he was shot in the chest at the hands of the officer.
- She went on to say shooting an unarmed child with his hands in the air is an assassination.
