ATV crash results in injuries for children

Sep. 25—Three kids were left with serious injuries following an ATV accident Sunday afternoon in Livingston County.

Four kids were northbound in a 2016 Polaris Ranger at about 2:40 p.m. when the vehicle began to slide on gravel on County Road 419 four miles northeast of Mooresville, Missouri.

The female driver, 14, of Hamilton, Missouri, overcorrected and went off the east side of the road. The ATV partially returned to the roadway before it overturned and came to rest on the passenger side, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Two boys, 6 and 10, both of Cameron, Missouri, and a female, 15, of Hamilton, were passengers and sustained serious injuries. The three were taken by ambulance to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri.

None of the kids were using a safety device, according to the report.
