Auburn basketball ranked No. 15 in preseason AP Top 25 poll

AUBURN — Auburn basketball was ranked No. 15 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday morning.

The Tigers are the fourth-highest ranked team in the SEC, behind T-No. 5 Kentucky, No. 10 Arkansas and No. 11 Tennessee.

Auburn went 28-6 last season and won the SEC regular season championship, going 15-3, but fell in the first round of the SEC Tournament. The Tigers received a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament but were upset by Miami in the second round.

While All-Americans Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler turned pro after last season, Auburn returns double-digit scorers K.D. Johnson and Wendell Green Jr. The Tigers also brought in the nation's No. 20 recruiting class (No. 5 in the SEC), including five-star center Yohan Traore, the program's second-highest rated recruit of all time.

Auburn will host George Mason Nov. 7 at Neville Arena (7:00 p.m., SECN+) to begin the regular season.
