Auburn basketball score vs. Ole Miss: Live updates against the Rebels

AUBURN — Following its victory over Arkansas on Saturday, Auburn basketball is aiming to grab some momentum and score a win on the road against Ole Miss.

Topping the Razorbacks is Auburn's biggest accomplishment so far this season. The Tigers (12-3, 2-1 SEC) had just dropped a game at Georgia three days earlier but responded by never trailing against Arkansas. Wendell Green Jr. led all scorers with 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field. He also hit 50% of his 3-pointers and made seven of his 11 free throws. Johni Broome logged a double-double, his third in a row, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The biggest story for Auburn, however, was the play of Allen Flanigan. The senior wing scored 18 points, matching his season high, and pulled in eight rebounds. Considering the opponent and magnitude of the game, it was his best showing since returning from the partially ruptured Achilles he suffered in the summer of 2021.

The Rebels, meanwhile, have lost four straight. The losing streak started at home against North Alabama on Dec. 20 and has continued against Tennessee (Dec. 28), Alabama (Jan. 3) and Mississippi State (Jan. 7). Ole Miss (8-7, 0-3) last won against Temple on Dec. 17.

Junior guard Matthew Murrell leads Ole Miss with 14.7 points per game. He's shooting 38.5% from the field, 28.4% from 3-point range and 87.2% from the free-throw line. The Rebels have three players on the roster with a 3-point percentage at or above 37% with at least 25 attempts: Junior forward Jaemyn Brakefield and freshmen guards Amaree Abraham and TJ Caldwell.
