Auburn basketball signee Aden Holloway drops 15 points in McDonald's All-American Game

Auburn basketball signee Aden Holloway left his mark on the 2023 McDonald's All-American Game on Tuesday, especially in the first quarter.

Holloway, a four-star guard out of Prolific Prep in Napa, California, finished with 15 points on 57.1% shooting. He scored 10 in the first frame, including a make from 3-point range from way beyond the arc to end the quarter.

He helped the East Team take down the West Team, 109-106.

"That's what I'm looking forward to, just to put on for them" Holloway said on the ESPN broadcast when asked about playing in front of Auburn's fanbase. "I'm looking forward to bringing good vibes to the arena and just putting on a show for them."

Holloway, who is tabbed by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 27 player in the class of 2023, signed to Auburn in November.

"Auburn has become a place where fast, quick, creative guards have flourished," coach Bruce Pearl said in a school release Nov. 14. "Aden is a special winner. He has a high basketball IQ and the unique ability to create for himself and others. People just love playing with him."

Holloway is a native of North Carolina, beginning his career with Matthews Covenant Day School before transferring to La Lumiere School in Indiana and then heading to Prolific Prep. In the AAU circuit, Holloway played with NBA star Chris Paul's Team CP3.

"Just his knowledge of the game," Holloway said of what he tries to emulate of Paul. "His pace. He's like a wizard. He knows what's going on, he's two steps ahead of the game. He knows what's going to happen. He knows all the reads.

"So, I'm just really trying to learn the game as much as I can to know as much as he does."
