Auburn basketball trolls Alabama as it falls in NCAA Tournament Sweet 16

The official Auburn basketball Twitter account made a usual tweet Friday night, but with Alabama being eliminated by San Diego State in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament, the tweet comes as a troll of its cross-state rival.

The post on the social media platform simply said "War Eagle" with an eagle emoji and was sent as the clock hit zero on the Crimson Tide's season.

Alabama fell 71-64 to San Diego State in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 at the YUM! Center in Lousiville, Kentucky. Alabama held a nine-point lead in the second half but let San Diego State outscore it by 16 the rest of the way. The Crimson Tide won SEC regular-season and tournament championships.

Auburn (21-13) fell in the second round of March Madness to Houston, 81-64 last Saturday at Legacy Arena in Birmingham. The Tigers were a 9-seed in the NCAA Tournament and beat Iowa in the first round.

Alabama swept the season series with Auburn, with a 90-85 overtime win in Tuscaloosa and a 77-69 win in Auburn.
