Auburn basketball Walker Kessler and Jabari Smith earn SEC weekly honors following win over Kentucky

After a big week for Auburn basketball that included a home win over No. 12 Kentucky and taking the No. 1 spot in the AP poll for the first time ever, two players earned SEC Player of the Week honors as announced by the league on Monday.

Walker Kessler took SEC Co-Player of the Week honors after averaged 17 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4 blocks per game in the Tigers' wins over Georgia and Kentucky. He had a game-high 19 points on an 8-for-10 performance from the field versus Kentucky. He blocked six shots against the Bulldogs. Arkansas' Jaylin Williams was a Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Kessler.

Jabari Smith took SEC Freshman of the Week for his performances in the two wins. He averaged 13 points, 7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He has scored in double-digits in 16 straight games, which leads the team.
