Auburn fans react to Alabama’s shocking loss to San Diego State in the Sweet Sixteen
Auburn may have been eliminated in the second round of the NCAA Tournament but that doesn’t mean the Auburn fans were not locked into the tournament and rooting against a certain team.
Their attention was well worth it Friday night when the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide was upset by No. 5 San Diego State in the Sweet 16.
The Aztecs beat Alabama 71-64 and prevented Alabama’s vaunted offense from getting going. The Crimson Tide went a dreadful 3-of-27 from three-point range and is now 1-9 all-time in the Sweet 16.
Auburn fans and plenty of others enjoyed the shocking upset and took to Twitter to celebrate Alabama’s early exit. Here are the top reactions.

When do we start discussing Nate Oats’ Bama failures in the NCAA tourney as more feature than bug like with Matt Painter, Rick Barnes, etc.?
Overall 1 seed and 2 seed teams not advancing past the Sweet 16. 6 seed upset by play-in 11. Only defeated one (1) single digit seed ever. pic.twitter.com/7ZsdK0YiyF

Two Sweet 16 clunkers in three years for Nate Oats with teams that could have gone to the Final Four or beyond. It’s officially a thing.
