AUBURN — New coach Hugh Freeze continues to shore up Auburn football's offensive line.

His coach with the Golden Hurricane was Philip Montgomery, who was fired in late November and subsequently hired to be the Tigers' new offensive coordinator a few weeks later.

CALLING PLAYS:Here's what Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze said about who will call plays in 2023

The 6-foot-, 290-pound Wade, a three-star recruit coming out of Cy Falls High School in Houston, Texas, in 2020, redshirted his freshman season at Tulsa before appearing in five games in 2021 and in 12 in 2022.

Upon entering the portal, Wade saw a number of programs send an offer his way, including Missouri, Ole Miss, TCU, Cal, Duke, Louisville, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC and Colorado. Wade joins junior college transfer Izavion Miller, four-star prospect Clay Wedin and three-star recruits Bradyn Joiner, Connor Lew and Tyler Johnson as newcomers to Auburn's offensive line.

He's also the third player from the transfer portal to commit to the Tigers this cycle, along with former FIU tight end Rivaldo Fairweather and Elijah McAllister, who played on the edge for Vanderbilt from 2018-22.
