AUBURN — The SEC has announced a game time and television channel for the 2022 edition of the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.
Auburn football will face Georgia on Saturday, Oct. 8 (2:30 p.m. CT, CBS) at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. The Tigers trail in the historic series 62-56, with Georgia having won the last five meetings dating to the 2017 SEC Championship Game.
This is the third consecutive year the game will be played in early October, after a stretch of 83 consecutive matchups in which the game was played in November or December.
It will also be Auburn's first road game of 2022 after five home games. The Tigers have lost seven in a row at Georgia. The last time they won at Sanford Stadium was in 2005.
In the meantime, Auburn (3-1, 1-0 SEC) will host LSU on Saturday (6 p.m. CT, ESPN). No. 1 Georgia (4-0, 1-0) will play at Missouri on Saturday (6:30 p.m., SEC Network).
