The Auburn Tigers will host the Louisiana Tigers in a conference battle on Saturday.

The game is the first conference matchup for LSU this season while Auburn defeated Missouri 17-14 in overtime during Week 4. Although starting quarterback T.J. Finley is out with a shoulder injury, Robby Ashford will take over for the Tigers offense.

The matchup will also be a test for the Auburn Tigers, as they're scheduled for consecutive conference matchups against Georgia, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Mississippi State in the following weeks.

Can the Auburn Tigers dominate LSU? Here's what our experts had to say about the Week 5 conference matchup.

LSU 21, Auburn 3: LSU possesses the transfer quarterback talent that Auburn desired but couldn't acquire last offseason. More importantly, Auburn's offensive line will get smothered by Brian Kelly's army of defensive front talent. I find it difficult to identify ways Auburn's offense can reliably score touchdowns at this point.

Koki Riley, LSU beat reporter

LSU 28, Auburn 10: Auburn has no discernable matchup advantage entering this game. LSU has been the better coached, more explosive, and much more well-rounded side the last handful of weeks. As long as Jayden Daniels and the LSU offense can play with tempo early on, they should be OK.

Blake Toppmeyer, SEC columnist

LSU 42, Auburn 14: Eliah Drinkwitz’s Missouri Tigers won’t be in sight of the Plains on Saturday, which spells trouble for Auburn. AU is on its own for this one. Uh-oh. Brian Kelly is curious to see how his team will react to the rigors of SEC play, but he might have to wait until next week’s game against Tennessee for a true test. These rivals have identical records, but LSU is steadily improving, while Auburn remains stuck in neutral.

John Adams, senior sports columnist

LSU 31, Auburn 17: This should be a matchup of first-year SEC coaches, but Auburn decided to fire second-year coach Bryan Harsin on a delayed basis, so he’s still hanging around.

Some LSU fans were in favor of firing first-year coach Brian Kelly after an opening loss to Florida State. More reasonable LSU fans won’t call for his firing until after a second loss.
