Audie Murphy Museum gets into Christmas spirit with holiday exhibit

Dec. 6—Each year, the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum gets into the Christmas spirit with special seasonal exhibits, which often feature the personal collections of area residents that have been amassed over a lifetime.

The museum's Christmas exhibit this year includes several Santa Claus figurines as well as a Christmas tree decorated with nutcrackers, all of which belong to Linda Owens.

The exhibit also includes a cross-stitch picture of a nutcracker made by Owens herself; a Christmas tree shelf made by her father, Doug Weaver, upon which the miniature Santas are being displayed; and multiple cross-stitch pictures and wall hangings made by her mother, Barbi Weaver.

The exhibit is to be on display until Jan. 18.

The Museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

General admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors/veterans/college students and $3 for children 6 through 18.
