Auditions will be held for 'The Wizard of Oz' to be performed at the Goshen Theater

GOSHEN — The Goshen Theater will hold auditions for “The Wizard of Oz” from 6 to 9 p.m. May 14 and 15 at 216 S. Main St.

Based on the 1939 film, the 2011 musical follows the adventures of Kansas farmgirl Dorothy and her new friends — The Scarecrow, The Tin Man and The Cowardly Lion — as they battle the Wicked Witch of the West and attempt to get Dorothy home from Oz.

Auditions consist of singing a portion of “Over the Rainbow,” choreography and reading from the script.

Bring a list of all conflicts from May 21 to Aug. 6.

Families are encouraged to audition together, and there will be double casting for the production.

“The Wizard of Oz” will be directed by Matthew Manley with musical direction by Marilyn Mason.

Rehearsals begin May 21.

Performances are July 28 to Aug. 6.
