JONESVILLE — The Sauk, Hillsdale County's community theatre, will host auditions for its upcoming production of “The Play That Goes Wrong” at 7 p.m. Dec. 5-6.

Auditions will be at the Sauk Theatre, 240 E. Chicago in Jonesville. Performance dates are Feb. 2-5 and Feb. 9-12.

Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, “The Murder at Haversham Manor,” where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show — an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines).

Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this award-winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter.

Auditions are open to anyone age 16 and older. There are roles for six men and two women. No preparation is required and no experience is necessary. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and comedy improvisations. Those auditioning are asked to bring a complete list of conflicts with them to auditions. Trinity Bird will be directing the production with stage management by Allison Tappen.

A list of characters and ticket information can be found at thesauk.org.

This production is sponsored by State Farm Agent Jason Adcock. The 2023 season is sponsored by Joyous Journey Photography. The 2023 media sponsor is WCSR Radio Hillsdale and The Dale 99.5.
