- An update now on the legal battle to bring Wi-Fi to students living at more than 200 New York City homeless shelters. The city has agreed to an August 31 deadline to complete Wi-Fi installation. 11,000 school-aged children in shelters would be able to take part in remote learning. About 75% of shelters are currently equipped with working Wi-Fi, and a new process will now be in place to help resolve any internet connection issues for homeless students.
