Augusta County man identified as driver killed in crash on Interstate 64

WAYNESBORO — Virginia State Police have identified an Augusta County man who was killed Monday in a crash on Interstate 64, a press release said.

The fatal crash took place shortly after 8 a.m. close to Exit 94 near Waynesboro in Augusta County.

Police said a 2009 Honda Accord was headed east on I-64 when it ran off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

The driver, Daniel L. Redifer, 21, of Crimora, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the release said.

The crash remains under investigation.
