Augusta County man killed in head-on crash on Route 42

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia State Police Department is investigating a deadly head-on collision that occurred on Route 42 in Augusta County on Feb. 4.

According to VSP, around 2:48 p.m., 31-year-old Andrew S. Holsinger, of Swoope, was driving a 1993 Ford Festiva west on Route 42, near Old Parkersburg Turnpike. That’s when authorities said the Ford crossed the center line and ran head-on into a 2013 Ford Mustang.

Holsinger died at the scene.

It was determined that he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police said the driver of the Mustang was not hurt in the crash.
