Augusta's feeling lucky! Here are some upcoming St. Patrick's Day festivities

St. Patrick's Day is Friday, a perfect opportunity to sample fine Irish whiskey, dress in emerald-green elegance, and celebrate Irish culture. Here are some of the Augusta area events helping make that happen:

The Irish American-Heritage Society's annual parade returns to downtown Augusta at 2 p.m. Friday. Floats and funny cars will travel down 7th and Telfair, Broad, 11th and 6th streets.

Later that evening, adults can stick around for the annual Lucky's St. Patrick's Day Crawl. Participants can travel from venue to venue, enjoying drink specials at Draft Society Taproom, Edgar's Above Broad, Joe's Underground Café, Sole Augusta and Tipsy McStumbles; all capped off with an after-party from 10 p.m. to midnight. Tickets can be bought online starting at $25 at crawlwith.us.

'A beacon of Georgia': Through Oasis church, pastor creates Augusta's first Hispanic radio station

ShamRock-and-Roll Golf Cart Parade and Festival hits Harlem on Saturday. The parade starts at 11 a.m. South Hicks Street and the festival starts at noon at Harlem Library Plaza on North Louisville Street. The festival will feature tons of activities such as a corn hole tournament, food vendors, and a bagpipe and Irish dance performance.

Those looking for a special dining experience can check out Le Chat Noir's St. Paddy's Day Celebration 7 p.m. Friday. Participants will start by being guided through flights of single malt and single pot still Irish whiskey. They will then learn how to make the "perfect" Irish coffee. The night will end with traditional Irish stew, soda bread, whiskey, cocktails specials and Irish beer. Le Chat is located at 304 8th St. in Augusta. Tickets can be bought for approximately $57 online at simpletix.com.

Riverwatch Brewery's St. Patrick's Day Party will offer a full afternoon of celebrations Friday starting 4 p.m. Families can enjoy Irish music and a bounce house, plus a "Special Lucky Lemon Soda" for kids and multiple Irish-themed brews for adults. The Augusta brewery is located at 115 4th St.

Cavalier's Coffeehouse's St. Patrick's Celebration is 4-7 p.m. Friday. There will be live music, a bounce house and free beer for adults. Cavalier's is located at 336 Georgia Ave. in North Augusta.

Savannah River Brewing's St. Patrick's Day Celebration starts noon Friday. The Augusta brewery will be releasing a variety of Irish beers and food will be offered by Fuse Mobile, a food truck featuring brisket, ribs, tacos and other savories. SRB is located at 813 5th St.
