Austin Butler Already a Hunk of Burning Love After Scoring Role of Elvis

Austin Butler is wasting no time showing the world that he truly is the right pick to play The King.

Just hours after it was announced that Butler will play legendary musician Elvis Presley in director Baz Luhrmann’s still-untitled biopic, the 27-year old star stepped out looking the part.

The young star was out in L.A. with his girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, wearing a denim button up and a pair of black pants.

To add to his look he had his shirt half un-buttoned with a pair of sunglasses in his shirt pocket with his hair greased back.

Butler will be starring alongside Tom Hanks, who will play controversial manager Colonel Tom Parker.

Butler beat out big names such as Harry Styles, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. His casting was announced Monday, after what Warner Bros. trumpets as an “extensive search.”

In the studio’s news release, Lurhamann says he knew ”unequivocally that I had found someone who could embody the spirit of one of the world’s most iconic musical figures."

The director looked for an actor “to evoke the singular natural movement and vocal qualities of this peerless star, but also the inner vulnerability of the artist,” adding “I knew I couldn’t make this film if the casting wasn’t absolutely right.”

The news sent Hudgens, “over the (expletive) moon,” she claimed in a NSFW Instagram post.

Butler’s first role was on “Hannah Montana,” where he played Toby in 2006, and then a different character, Derek Hanson, in 2007.

Filming for the Elvis movie will begin early next year in Queensland, Australia.

He better start loading up on peanut butter and banana sandwiches.
