Austin Campus Named 'Best Public High School In Texas'
AUSTIN, TX — Liberal Arts & Science Academy in Austin was ranked the No. 1 best public high school in Texas in a new national poll.
Niche has released its 2021 Best Schools rankings to serve as a resource for parents looking for the best school for their family during in an uncertain time marked by the coronavirus pandemic. After assessing 19,532 campuses, Liberal Arts & Science Academy garnered the top spot among high schools, along with the nation's 14th best high school in the U.S. and the 9th Best Magnet High School in America, according to the findings.
Travis County was well represented in the rankings, with Eanes Independent School District earning the 9th-ranked Best School District in America and No. 1 Best District in Texas. The school district lies in an unincorporated portion of the county, with an enrollment of some 7,700 students at six elementary schools, two middle schools and a high school.
What's more, a school within the Eanes ISD, Westlake High School, snagged the fourth position in the 2021 Best Public High Schools in Texas list. The top five in the Niche report are:

School for the Talented & Gifted
School of Science & Engineering
Westlake High School
Carnegie Vanguard High School

In its 7th year, Niche’s school rankings include 231 newly ranked private schools, 3,971 newly ranked public schools and 588 newly ranked school districts. Searchers can use filters to view the best schools or districts in their state. As in previous years, the Best Schools rankings include categories for boarding, charter and magnet schools as well as schools for STEM and the arts among many others.
