AUSTIN, TX — The 2020 version of Father's Day will be unlike those of the past, what with the continuing need to practice safeguards amid an age of the coronavirus. But with adherence to physical distancing guidelines and with a protective face covering at the ready, you can still treat dear old dad for that special meal.
Think curbside service and/or takeout. Several Austin restaurants are planning specially tailored culinary offerings for Dad's big day on Sunday, June 21. Below are some of the more interesting offerings.
Contigo Catering & Dispatch is hosting three days of classic drive-in movies for Father's Day weekend at Gingerland Ranch, June 19-June 21. Food & beverage will be provided by Contigo Catering and includes focaccia pizzas, green chile chicken sandwiches, blackberry bourbon lemonade and more. Drive-in movie tickets include dinner by Contigo Catering & a movie for $87 per couple (cocktails, beer & wine available for add on purchase). This Austin Staple on South Lamar will reopen its dining room doors for brunch starting Sunday, June 21 — just in time for a Father's Day celebration. Brunch will be available for dine-in Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well as takeout from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dine-in is available by reservation via OpenTable and walk-in. Dads eat free on Father's Day at all locations, able to enjoy a complimentary entree, side and non-alcoholic beverage (up to a $15 value) from an expansive menu when they show their Pluckers Club or Pluckers Club Lite membership on the Pluckers mobile app upon arrival.
