Austin got a sneak peek at Darius Rucker and The Black Crowes collabing at the CMT Awards

Country artist Darius Rucker and rock band The Black Crowes are teaming up at the Country Music Television Awards on Sunday night in Austin.

The pair will perform The Black Crowes' hit "She Talks to Angels" during the awards ceremony. And if their performance is anything like we saw Friday night, viewers are in for a treat.

Rucker and the Black Crowes taped an episode of the music show "CMT Crossroads" in downtown Austin on Friday, singing each other's hits to a packed crowd. It was, for real, incredible. We caught up with Rucker and brothers Chris and Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes before the show.

Chris Robinson said he hopes their collaboration with Rucker gives audiences a soulful connection with music. Rich Robinson said the band wanted to work with Rucker because they thought it would be a great collaboration.

"I'm excited just to see the whole spectacle," Chris Robinson said of the award show, which is happening outside of Nashville for the first time.

"When you move these award shows to these great cities, it's fun," Rucker said, calling Austin one of his favorite cities.
