Pro wrestler and MMA fighter Austin “The Bodyguard” Green, who served in the U.S. Army, is tough and has come a long way in all facets of life.

If anyone can handle a dual sports (and entertainment) schedule, it’s Green,

Green (5-0) fights MMA for Fury FC on UFC Fight Pass and trains in pro wrestling at the Nightmare Factory in Atlanta, near where he grew up in Newnan, Georgia.

Here is my video interview with Green as he discusses fighting for Fury FC, his training in MMA and pro wrestling, competing for AEW, playing football and more.

A heavyweight, Green will fight for Fury FC on Sunday in the main event at the Escapade in Houston. Furthermore, he will attend AEW Dynamite live and AEW Rampage TV tapings on Wednesday at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise. Not hired full-time by the fast-growing company, maybe we will see him in some capacity on either AEW show.

Green has wrestled on AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation, featured on AEW YouTube. He also competed in semi-pro arena football for the Peach State Cats in Georgia, playing against former Dallas Cowboys football player Greg Hardy, who is now an MMA fighter, too.

The athletic Green is no kicker. A defensive end, tight end and fullback, he is 6-5 and a solid 285 pounds. He attended East Coveta and Newnan high schools, not really excelling in football. A late bloomer in that regard, he was fast and strong, good size.

You can’t teach speed and size, and Green has both. He moves exceptionally well for a big man.

Green’s first AEW match (AEW Dark in Jacksonville) was against Frankie Kazarian, an outstanding talent. He also competed with Vary Morales against his Nightmare Factory coach QT Marshall & Aaron Solo on AEW Dark from Universal Studios Orlando.
