One person was detained early Saturday as Austin police investigates what led to the death of a man found at an apartment in Southeast Austin late Friday.

Officers responded at 11:55 p.m. Friday to multiple 911 calls about a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Grove Boulevard near East Riverside Drive.

They were informed that the incident could be related to a home that was burglarized, said officer Alexandra Parker, a police spokeswoman.

When officers arrived at the complex, they found a man in his 30s who was not conscious or breathing, Parker said. Police and emergency medical personnel tried to treat the man but he was pronounced dead at 12:38 a.m., Parker said.

As of Saturday morning, police did not release any new information about the death, which Parker said was Austin's 89th homicide of the year.
