Mid-century modern houses aren’t just a thing of the past in the architectural world, they’re a staple of some of the most well-known architects, like Frank Lloyd Wright. And they’ve been appearing more and more on today’s real estate market all over the country.

The latest comes out of Benbrook, Texas, and one popular social media site is highly amused — and intrigued — by the inside.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom modest home is listed for $475,000 and has a style that can be accurately described with Frank Sinatra lyrics. The technicolor throwback style is reminiscent of the 1960s and 70s and is like a time capsule made of wood paneling.

“Welcome to this architectural gem, ‘The Discovery II House,’ built under the direction of the TCU Construction Management Program in 1965,” the listing on Zillow.com details.

“This 2-story unique & extraordinary home with its mid-century modern aesthetics is nestled on a serene half acre lot abutting Mary’s Creek. There are 3 living spaces downstairs, one of which is a ‘sunroom,’ which could be used an additional bedroom, boasting a 8x8 hot tub.”

That’s right, there’s a sunroom complete with a hot tub indoors.

Other features across the 3,112-square-foot home include:

  • Media room

  • Attached office

  • Natural light

  • Water well

The home nabbed the attention of folks on Zillow Gone Wild, a popular real estate Facebook and X page that highlights unique houses for sale. Some were puzzled, others fell in love.

“Why do I feel the need to walk around this house like Peggy Bundy while holding a martini?” someone asked on Facebook. “I actually do love this one, even if I did think it looked like a government building at first.”

“A lot of quirky charm. The kitchen is small and too closed off from the living room. The garage out back looks interesting, though....” another commented.

“The Brady Bunch wish they lived here. Pretty cool house!!” someone noted.

“Love it! I wouldn’t change a thing,” one person said.

The exterior looks like it used to actually be a McDonald’s” another said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Austin Powers, come get your house,” someone joked.

Benbrook is about 10 miles southwest of downtown Fort Worth.
