Austin woman in early Monday morning crash south of Blooming Prairie

Oct. 23—A two-vehicle accident south of Blooming Prairie on Highway 218 Monday morning sent one Austin woman to the hospital.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash took place at just after 7 a.m. Monday morning at the intersection of Highway 218 and 320th Street.

A 2018 Ford F-150, driven by Wade Donald Schwinefus, 53, of Spring Valley, was traveling northbound on 218 and attempting to turn left onto 320th when a 2014 Honda CR-V, driven by 30-year-old Kayla Lynn Rogers, of Austin, who was also traveling northbound on 218, collided with Schwinefus.

According to the report, Rodgers was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin with non-life threatening injuries. Schwinefus was uninjured.

The Blooming Prairie Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
