Austin's Collins picked for Alabama All Stars
Feb. 25—Cam Collins will be representing the Austin Black Bears in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic on March 11.
Collins is one of 24 players from the state selected to play in the event at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. The 6-foot-4 senior had a key role in Austin's Class 7A, Area 8 championship seasons in head boys basketball coach Desmond Phillips' first year. Collins is undecided about college.
The Alabama boys roster includes Grissom's RJ Johnson and Israel Miles. Johnson has signed with Alabama.
The Alabama girls roster includes Deshler's Chloe Siegel, Hazel Green's Nyla Grace Collier and Sparkman's Kennedy Langham. Siegel has signed with UNA. Collier is going to Montevallo and Langham to Samford.
The Alabama girls' team will be coached by Kenny Hill of Guntersville and Katie Barton of Saint James. The Alabama boys' coaches are Rhett Harrelson of Enterprise and Darren Golson of Autaugaville.
