Australia's HWL Ebsworth Expands in Darwin, Melbourne

Darwin Australia

HWL Ebsworth, one of Australia's largest firms, continued its expansion, hiring two new partners this week.

Construction partner Fabio Fior joined the firm's office in Darwin, in northern Australia; while financial services partner Natalie Cambrell joined the Melbourne office.

Fior focuses on major projects, advising on property, construction, and commercial agreements. He previously was a partner at Squire Patton Boggs, which he joined in 2013 as of counsel, making partner in 2016. Prior to joining Squire Patton Boggs he worked at MinterEllison, which he joined in 2005 and where he made partner in 2010.

Cambrell specializes in superannuation, financial services, and privacy law. She joins from Australian firm Lander & Rogers, where she was a partner for seven and a half years. Previously, she was with Herbert Smith Freehills via its merger with legacy Freehills, which she joined in 1996, making partner in 2004.

Last week, HWL Ebsworth hired former Norton Rose Fulbright corporate special counsel Matthew Nelson as a partner in Sydney.

The Australian firm has more than 200 partners across nine offices: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and two in Sydney. Earlier this year, the firm merged with TressCox Lawyers.
