The final flight carrying Australian citizens and visa holders from Kabul, Afghanistan, arrived in a United Arab Emirates airbase on August 26.

Reports said that Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed that the country’s military personnel were evacuated from Kabul just hours before attacks killed dozens outside the gates of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, on August 26.

Australia halted evacuation flights in light of the attacks, according to reports. Morrison acknowledged some Australian visa holders remained in Afghanistan, though he said the exact numbers were not known.
