Author Jerry Nelson to speak at Grace Lutheran Church Jan. 28
Jerry Nelson, the author of “Dear County Agent Guy” and a newspaper columnist, will be speaking at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown on Jan. 28.
Nelson has lived in rural South Dakota all his life and has shared humorous tales of his experiences as a dairy farmer, husband, father, son and neighbor.
“It’s entirely possible that my ancestors used mastodons to pull their plows,” Nelson said in a news release.
His "sturdy Norwegian pioneer” relatives settled in barren, treeless, pre-statehood South Dakota, and said, “Yeah, we can live here," per the release.
Other locals will also entertain at the event, which begins at 7 p.m. Grace Lutheran is at 202 Second St. S.E.
Reserved seating is $20 and general admission is $15, with funds going to the Raise the Roof campaign. For more information, contact Darlene Bresson at 605-421-1258 or email dbress20@gmail.com
