Pedestrian killed after being struck by multiple vehicles on I-35, Olathe police say
A pedestrian was killed late Wednesday night after being struck by multiple vehicles on Interstate 35, according to the Olathe Police Department.
Officers were dispatched about 9:15 p.m. to the northbound lanes of I-35 near Santa Fe Street on a reported fatality crash, Sgt. Joel Yeldell, a police spokesman, said in a statement. Arriving officers found the pedestrian, identified only as a male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further details about the crash and the pedestrian’s identity were not provided by police.
Police said northbound travel along the highway would remain closed south of Santa Fe until further notice. Traffic affected includes access ramps between West 151st Street and Old 56 Highway.
Police issued a traffic advisory about the crash Wednesday night, saying motorists should seek an alternative route.
