Authorities identify 3 teens who were killed in Brimfield crash

Authorities have identified the three teenagers who were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Brimfield over the weekend.

Troopers responding to reports of a crash in the area of 40 East Brimfield-Holland Road just before 1 a.m. Sunday found a 2006 Nissan Sentra that had gone off the road and rolled over in the woods, according to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office.

Vincent J. Ardizzoni, 17, of Holland, and Shane M. Douglas, 18, of West Brookfield, and Dominick P. Gardner, 17, of Oxford, died in the crash, the DA’s office said.

A fourth occupant, a 17-year-old Brookfield boy, suffered serious injuries. His name has not been released.

Two of the victims attended Tantasqua High School, according to Brimfield Superintendent of Schools Deborah Boyd.

In a statement, Boyd said, “We are deeply saddened by the news that the lives of 2 of our Tantasqua High School students were lost in a tragic accident overnight. Our hearts go out to their families as well as our students and staff. Counselors will be available at the high school at the beginning of the week for any of our school community in need of support.”

An investigation remains ongoing.
