The National Weather Service advised people to travel with caution as they forecast “heavy snow bands” through Monday afternoon.

Footage released by Newmarket Fire and Rescue shows a damaged overhead wire on Grant Road, in Newmarket. “Crews have been responding to many calls this evening for storm-related damages,” the fire service said.

Local police said they responded to 90 crashes and vehicles that have gone off the road since 5 am on Monday.
