Authorities seek help in locating missing Coshocton man

UPDATE: Murel Parks Sr. was located safe on Tuesday evening in the 700 block of Main Street. He was given a health assessment on scene and released to the custody of family.

COSHOCTON — The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on an elderly man who was last seen on Friday.

Authorities said a well-being check was requested at 12:45 p.m. Monday for Murel Parks Sr., 73, of Coshocton at his residence in the 1600 block of Arthur Avenue. He was not at home.

Parks' vehicle was located a short time later on North Sixth Street. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate Parks. The Coshocton County K-9 unit and detectives assisted in the search using drones.

Parks is 5'11" and 160 pounds with shoulder length red or auburn hair. He's believed to be wearing a brown Carhartt jacket.
