Authorities still searching for 24-year-old man who went missing in Candlewood Lake
Authorities are still searching Candlewood Lake in Brookfield for a 24-year-old man who went missing in the water over Memorial Day weekend.
The man from Bristol went into the water after being on a boat on the lake Sunday evening. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Conservation Police began scouring the lake for him right away, according to a spokesperson for DEEP.
Patrol vessels and dive teams searched the water for hours Sunday but suspended their search late that night. Their efforts shifted to a recovery mission and have been ongoing for days.
The department is asking anyone who was in the area between 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Sunday to help with the search by calling the DEEP EnCon police at 860-904-8154.
