Autopsy for missing Georgia man killed in Aiken County crash happening Friday

Sep. 30—The investigation into the death of a missing Martinez, Georgia, man is still open pending autopsy results, according to the Aiken County coroner.

Austin F. Hollar, 27, died Saturday after his vehicle crashed on Silver Bluff Road in Aiken County.

Just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the Coroner's Office responded to reports of an accident on the 3400 block of Silver Bluff Road in Aiken County.

Authorities said the victim was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.

Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell with the S.C. Highway Patrol confirmed the accident occurred sometime Saturday.

Hollar was reported missing to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office on Saturday after he failed to show up at home after leaving work in Aiken, according to a release from the Aiken County Coroner's Office.

"A 2013 Nissan Rogue was traveling west when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and went down an embankment striking a tree," according to the release. "The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene."

Hollar will be autopsied in Newberry on Friday.

The coroner's office along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing with the investigation.
