After the ice storm that knocked out power for thousands in southeast Michigan this week, you may need some reasons to get out of the house this weekend.

There are several area events to check out that will include custom cars, nostalgia, food and appearances from celebrities like Flavor Flav and Henry Winkler.

Here is a list of things to do for the weekend of Feb. 24.

Detroit Autorama

The 70th annual Detroit Autorama is revved up and ready to show off more than 800 hot rods and custom trucks and motorcycles from across the world.

Highlights include the Rat Fink Reunion with designer Ed “Big Daddy” Roth; Cars of George Barris, "The King of the Kustomizers," known for TV/Hollywood cars; a sneak preview of a new documentary by Emmy-winning filmmaker Keith Famie, entitled, ‘Detroit, The City of Hot Rods and Muscle Cars,’ with special host Danny Koker from TV’s Counting Cars and more.

Celebrities at the show will include Hip Hop legend Flavor Flav, Henry Winkler from ‘Happy Days,’ and Dave Kindig from 'TV’s Bitchin Rides.'

There will be live entertainment by Rockabilly bands.

Noon-10 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday at Huntington Place (formerly TCF/Cobo Center). Admission is $25 for adults; $10 for children 6-12 years old; and free for children 5 and younger.

Outdoorama and 16th annual Cottage & Lakefront Living Show

Outdoorama, a show that celebrates Michigan’s outdoors, and the Cottage & Lakefront Living Show run concurrently at Suburban Collections Showplace with free crossover admission.

Outdoorama - Will feature more than five acres of conservation displays, boats, hunting and fishing gear, marine accessories, education and informative seminars and more will be at this event that celebrates being outdoors in Michigan.

There will be Timberworks Lumberjack competitions, live animals and birds of prey, a stocked trout pond to catch fish, an indoor archery range and educational seminars that will cover topics ranging from fishing and hunting to training your bird dog or grooming your land for wildlife or hunting.

Cottage & Lakefront Living Show - Prepare for summertime with everything from lakefront upgrades, help with sprucing up interiors to beach fun.

The show will have a ‘She Shed’ that can be used as a hobby area; a lofted cabin; advice and creative ideas from exhibitors, a massive sandbox to build a sandcastle or put your toes in the sand, lawn games and more.

1-8 p.m. Thursday; 12-8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi. Admission: $12 adults, $5 children 6 to 14, free for children 5 and under. On-site parking is $5.

Great Lakes Comic Convention

This event will include comic books, toy collecting and celebrity appearances.

Special guests will include comic artists Mike Royer, Angel Medina and Tom Nguyen, writers Dan Didio and John Jackson Miller, creature actor Dorian Kingi, actor Barry Lowin of The Mandalorian, professional wrestler Ax from Demolition, wrestling manager Jimmy Hart and more.

5-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at Macomb Community College, South Campus, 14500 E. 12 Mile in Warren. Admission is $20, children ages 10 and younger are free.

Foodie February

Downtown Rochester’s Foodie February is still in full swing through the month of February. Dine in or carry-out from any participating restaurant in the City of Rochester and save receipts for a chance to win restaurant gift cards.

Receipts can be brought to Downtown Collaboration Studio, 431 S. Main Street from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday through Feb. 28, or text FOODIE to 866-603-4005. You will be prompted to send a picture of your receipt.Diners will receive one entry for every receipt turned in from a participating business. Winners will be announced and contacted March 1 with prizes including a $500, $250 or $100 dining package.

The Taste of Black Spirits “The History” 6th Edition and the Liquid Forum

Black Spirits Legacy and Pronghorn present these Detroit events to highlight Black-owned brands and industry leaders.

Forum panelists will reflect on their professional journeys and provide expert mentorship for entrepreneurs interested in the spirits industry. Panelists will include Pronghorn CEO Jomaree Pinkard; Tom Bullocks owner Alan Henderson; Black Leaf Vodka owner Monte' Borrow; and Cajun Fire Brewing CEO Jon Renthrope.

4 p.m. Friday at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Tickets are $35.

The Taste of Black Spirits "The History" 6th Edition

This returning event will highlight the history and evolution of Black master distillers, distributors and trailblazers of the industry.

Attendees will be able to sample products and meet the founders of those brands. The showcase will be filmed and documented. Elegant attire is required.

6-11 p.m. Saturday at the Garden Theatre at 3929 Woodward in Detroit. Tickets are $55.
