Auxiliary presents check to Johnstown Symphony Orchestra

The Somerset Auxiliary of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra (SAJSO) recently presented a check to the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra for $7,000 reflecting proceeds from their 10th Annual Taste of the Laurel Highlands fundraiser held in October at the Green Gables, Jennerstown.

The Taste of the Laurel Highlands features a dozen or more local restaurants serving portions of their finest dishes to patrons who donate for the privilege. It also features on-line and live silent auctions of hundreds of donated gift cards and certificates for other popular restaurants and services. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to support the JSO and its many community outreach programs.

"The strength of our organization is our people, and none are more dedicated than our Somerset Auxiliary of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra," said Executive Director Jessica Satava, "Year in and year out, they find creative and effective ways connect with our community and support our work to bring music to the region. I'm celebrating their hard work and so grateful that they choose to give so generously to our orchestra!"
