An aggressive man slapped and scratched pop star Ava Max while she was performing Tuesday night in Los Angeles.

The man overpowered a security guard to get close enough to the singer while she was performing “The Motto” at the Fonda Theatre.

“He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again,” Max wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!”

The “Sweet But Psycho” artist danced through the end of the performance and, according to another fan at the show, still did meet-and-greets backstage after the slap. “The Motto” was the last song of Max’s set.

“The guy rushed on stage at the end right when the last song ended,” a fan wrote on Twitter. “The security guard tackled him and literally THREW him down the stairs. Wild!!! It happened so fast.”

The incident came barely 48 hours after another pop star, Bebe Rexha, was attacked on stage while performing. Rexha was playing a show at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan when a man threw a phone and struck her in the eye.

Rexha suffered a black eye and was briefly hospitalized for treatment after the attack. Nicolas Malvagna, 27, of Manalapan, N.J., was arrested and charged with felony assault. He reportedly told police that he did it because “it would be funny.”

Rexha returned to the stage two days later in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, telling the crowd, “Just no phones on my face tonight. Please, I beg of you.”

Ava Max’s next show is scheduled for Thursday night in San Francisco.
