ALPHARETTA, GA — While we continue to practice social distancing and stay home, Avalon, Alpharetta’s mixed-use destination, has launched a special Instagram Live (IGTV) series – #AvalonAtHome – to give the community multiple ways to experience their favorite activities along the Boulevard from the comfort of their home. Users can tune in at @AvalonInsider.

Never Miss a Monday

Each Monday, Avalon invites followers to experience live virtual fitness classes led by Atlanta’s top instructors, presented by lululemon. Each class only requires a few household items or no equipment and will encourage followers to break a sweat in under 30 minutes without leaving the house. The class schedule is outlined below:

  • March 30 – yoga flow with @laurenbreatheyoga at 8 a.m.
  • April 6 – form-focused HIIT with @colemanor at 6 p.m.
  • April 13 - barre with @barrecode_alpharetta at noon
  • April 20 - yoga and abs with @peachoutpoweryoga 8 a.m

Wellness Wednesday

Each Wednesday, Avalon will share self-care video tutorials from the destination’s beauty and wellness retailers. The videos will range from daily skincare routines to makeup techniques and more. Plus, the videos will list which products are being used and how followers can purchase them online.

FriYAY

To jumpstart the weekend, the whole family can tune in each Friday for videos that highlight exciting activities for all ages, including craft workshops and tips for making your favorite cocktail from Avalon’s best-in-class restaurants at home.

As part of its response to the coronavirus pandemic, the City of Alpharetta has enacted an emergency ordinance temporarily prohibiting dine-in service at restaurants, bars, and other food-serving establishments. Take-out, take-away, and delivery service is still allowed. The ordinance also bans any activity that would result in the gathering of 10 or more people at restaurants, gyms, fitness centers, bowling alleys, arcades, movie theaters, live performance venues, and public and private clubs.

While all restaurant dining rooms are currently closed in Alpharetta, Avalon has created a websitethat it is updating frequently as retailers and restaurants make adjustments to operating hours. If a particular retailer or restaurant is not listed, they are currently closed until further notice.
