Avengers: Endgame director Joe Russo has taken a comedic jab at a certain Spider-Man who doesn't know how to keep Marvel Cinematic Universe secrets.

Joe Russo and brother Anthony Russo co-directed the epic 2019 MCU Phase 3 blockbuster, in which Tom Holland starred in.

Taking to the social media platform TikTok, Joe had a few things to say... or not say about Tom's ability to keep a Marvel secret and not spoil anything for fans.

Tom had previously let slip several MCU spoilers over the years, which prompted the studio to apparently limit his access to scripts.

On the official account for AGBO, an independent studio set up by the Russo brothers and producer Mike Larocca, Joe shared a short clip that called out the young actor.

The post shows Joe in his office with the caption: "POV: It's 2018, and you're discussing top secret Avengers: Endgame plot, and Tom Holland walks in the room."

In the video, Joe acts as if he is about to reveal a secret to the fictional script room, before realising Tom has walked in. He then shakes his head from side to side and says: "I don't know."

The video prompted MCU fans to comment and jest about the situation.

Tom can't be the only MCU actor to blame for slip-ups, with Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo also coming unstuck and Bucky Barnes/Winter Solider star Sebastian Stan previously revealing he was told that Tony Stark's funeral scene was a wedding.

Mark gave fans an early sneak peek of Thor: Ragnarok in 2017 when he forgot to end a Facebook Live with fans before seeing the film. In doing so, he accidentally broadcast parts of the movie to those still on the stream.

The Russo brothers were attached to MCU films Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

Fans of their work can currently catch their newest small-screen venture, Citadel starring Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra and Stanley Tucci.

Avengers: Endgame is out now on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K and digital download, and is available on Disney+.
