Average price for gallon of gas in Massachusetts is $3.36 per gallon
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas sold in Massachusetts is now $3.36, down a penny from last week, according to AAA Northeast.
The current Massachusetts average is 1 cent lower than it was last week ($3.37), and 3 cents lower than it was a month ago ($3.39). But it's $1.02 higher than it was on Jan. 17, 2021 ($2.34).
Massachusetts’ average gas price is 5 cents higher than the national average.
“Prices remain high compared to a year ago, but the relative stability in recent weeks is some measure of good news for motorists,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast's director of public/government affairs, in a statement.
The least expensive price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in MetroWest is $3.19 at Speedway and at Exxcel Oil, both on Pond Street in Ashland, and at Sav-Mor on South Main Street (Route 126) in Bellingham, according to gasbuddy.com.
The BJ's stations in both Hudson and Franklin match that price, but you have to be a member.
