Is Avila or Morro Strand the best beach in SLO County? You decide

The public has spoken — after weeks of voting and difficult decisions, you, the San Luis Obispo County community, have finally picked your top two local beaches.

Now only one decision remains: Which is the absolute best beach in all of San Luis Obispo County?

On one side of the ring we have South County darling Avila Beach — the California-cool beach of choice of college students and locals hoping to avoid the out-of-towners that flock to other big-name local beaches (looking at you, Pismo).

Then on the other side is Morro Strand, a massive scenic stretch of sand where you can surf, fish, ride horseback, jog, kayak — basically all the seaside recreations — right at the base of Morro Rock before heading into the city for a bowl of clam chowder on the Embarcadero.

So which is your beach of choice?

Let us know in the poll below! Voting ends Dec. 14 at 11:59 p.m. and remember you can vote as many times as you like between then and now to make sure your favorite comes out on top!
