Avril Lavigne has responded to a Tumblr post which compared her meet and greet photos to Taylor Swift’s - and she’s got wise words for us all.

HURRAH.

Fans were upset about the post, which used more ‘awkward’ photos of Avril, Katy Perry, Kanye West and Britney Spears to seemingly show their meet and greets in a negative light.

Obviously, Avril’s fans weren’t exactly thrilled about this, posting photos of the singer being awesome with them in other meet and greets. Fans from the other fanbases did the same.

The post was brought to the ‘Complicated’ singer’s attention when someone shared a screengrab on Twitter, claiming that Taylor herself had liked the post on Twitter.

In response, Avril took to her own Twitter to spread the love and to encourage positivity.

She wrote: “Comparison is judging and judging a person does not define who they are it defines who you are. We all Love our fans.”

Sharing a couple of collages showing her being super lovely with her fans, Avril added: “So let’s keep it all about the love and stay positive.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Avril’s fans showed their idol how much they loved her after she was diagnosed with Lyme disease last year, leaving her bedridden for five months.

Her supporters sent her videos, letters, posters and other things to help her through the tough time, with Avril herself later telling ABC News: “I sat there in my bed and I watched the videos and, like, did exactly what I’m doing now. I cried through the whole thing.

“Honestly, I felt very, very loved. And it sounds silly saying it, but I really truly did feel my fans through the process.”
