Ayanna Patterson, No. 3 recruit in Class of 2022, commits to UConn women

UConn women’s basketball gained a commitment in the Class of 2022 on Saturday, as Ayanna Patterson — the No. 3 recruit in the class per ESPN — announced that she’ll be joining the Huskies next fall.

Patterson, a 6-foot-2 wing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, is the second ’22 player to announce their decision to join the Huskies. Isuneh Brady, a 6-3 post from San Diego, previously made her commitment to Geno Auriemma last fall.

ESPN describes Patterson as “athletic forward prospect knocks down mid-range jumpers in traffic; quick-leaper, pounds the glass, visits the charity stripe with consistency; explosive in the paint, delivers results with consistency; versatile defender.”

UConn is set to have 13 players under scholarship for the 2022-23 season, barring any transfers.
