B-C's Armentrout, Marshall, BU's Nemeth and FCA's Pardon take home top district honors

COLUMBUS – The All-Central District high school football all-star teams, selected by a media panel from the district, was released Wednesday, and there was no shortage of local players earning honors.

Bloom-Carroll, which cruised to their fifth consecutive Mid-State League-Buckeye Division championship and will be playing in a Division III, Region 11 quarterfinal on Friday against Tri-Valley, placed 11 players on the all-district team, including the top offensive and defensive honors.

Junior running back Dylan Armentrout, who broke the single-season rushing record, was named the Central District Division III Offensive Player of the Year, and senior linebacker Andrew Marshall was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year.

In Division VI, Berne Union senior quarterback Nate Nemeth was named the Offensive Player of the Year, and in Division VII, Fairfield Christian Academy’s Marcus Pardon took home Coach of the Year honors.

In Division I, Lancaster junior linebacker Cole Dickerson was named second team all-district, while Kody Hoffman and Gunnar Richards were honorable mention.

In Division III, Bloom-Carroll’s Armentrout, Marshall, Jaden Ball, Grant Dolan and Chase Plantz all earned first team All-District honors. Brodyn Bishop and Kale Kraner were named second team, while Dylan Chittum, Zane Gogolin, Ethan Thanthanavong and Collin Willet were named special/honorable mention.

In Division V, Liberty Union junior defensive lineman Slade McClaskey and Amanda-Clearcreek punter Drew Dossman earned first team honors. Liberty Union quarterback Cayden Carroll and running back Caden Courts were named second team.

Taking home special/honorable mention honors were Liberty Union’s Cade Craft, Troy Myers, Brendyn Ragan and Amanda-Clearcreek’s Tommy Stai.

In Division VI, Berne Union’s Nemeth, James Ashton and Wyatt Adams were all selected first team.

In Division VII, first team honors went to Fairfield Christian Academy’s Danny Blair Sam Rauch, Fisher Catholic’s JJ Viau and Hyde O’Rielly and Millersport’s Andre Kronenbitter.

Earning special/honorable mention honors were Fairfield Christian Academy’s John Grabans and Ben Hopple, Fisher Catholic’s Grant Keefer and Millersport’s Bryce Forgette, Jason Wells and Nicholas Yingling.

Note: Only one team was selected in some divisions due to a low number of schools.
