Baby elephant twins open holiday presents at Syracuse zoo. See the video

Christmas came a few days early for the animals at Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse.

On Sunday, the Asian elephants twins, red pandas, monkeys, leopards and other zoo animals were treated to opening boxes wrapped in holiday paper. The festive enrichment was part of "Twin Day and Holidays with the Animals," a free event presented by Micron Technologies.

Over 1,700 zoo visitors watched the curious animals play with the presents.

The baby twin male elephants, who made history with their October birth, were particularly amused by the gifts. A video provided by the zoo shows them sliding, knocking over, unwrapping and exploring inside the boxes with their trunks.
